Meet the Team

Our Support Team

A small, experienced support team committed to a calm, ethical and well-held retreat experience.

Clear Roles, Real People

At Silkworth Thailand, we keep roles and responsibilities clear. We do not present the retreat as a hospital, detox facility, psychiatric unit, or medically staffed clinic.

Before you arrive, we explain what support is available, what sits outside our scope, and when another service would be more appropriate. That honesty is part of keeping the retreat safe.

Support Team

Programme Lead

Oversees the day-to-day programme, safeguarding process, guest check-ins, practical coordination, and standards of care across the retreat.

Lead Therapist

Leads core therapeutic work with guests, helping shape individual treatment goals and coordinating trauma-informed interventions such as counselling, EMDR, and structured review.

Counsellor

Offers consistent one-to-one support, relational process work, and day-to-day therapeutic continuity so guests can build trust, reflect safely, and work at a sustainable pace.

Wellbeing Coordinator

Supports the daily rhythm of the retreat through wellbeing check-ins, mindfulness facilitation, practical coordination, and attentive guest welfare support between formal sessions.

Our Approach to Staffing

We deliberately maintain a small team and a low guest-to-therapist ratio. This ensures that every guest receives genuinely personalised attention – not a one-size-fits-all programme delivered by rotating staff.

Your primary counsellor stays with you from arrival to departure. Continuity of support is not a luxury; it helps guests build trust and work at a sustainable pace.

  • Clear pre-arrival conversations about what the retreat can and cannot provide
  • Defined safeguarding processes and escalation routes
  • Role-appropriate training and review for team members
  • Referral to external medical or specialist services where needed
  • Honest boundaries around detox, psychiatric crisis care, diagnosis, and medication
