Plan Your Stay
What to Pack
A practical packing guide for your therapeutic retreat in Thailand. Less than you think – this is not a formal environment.
Pack Light, Dress Comfortably
Silkworth is a casual, warm-weather environment. You will not need smart clothes, formal wear, or extensive equipment. Most guests find they packed too much, not too little.
Thailand is warm year-round (25–35°C), and our daily programme involves therapy sessions, mindfulness practice, and time in nature. Comfort is the priority.
Packing Essentials
Clothing
Lightweight, breathable clothes – cotton or linen. Loose trousers or shorts, t-shirts, a light cardigan for air-conditioned spaces. Comfortable walking shoes or sandals. A swimsuit if you enjoy the pool. Laundry is available, so you do not need 12 weeks’ worth of clothes.
Health & Medication
Prescription medication for your full stay plus two weeks’ buffer. A doctor’s letter listing medications. Sunscreen (SPF 30+), insect repellent, and any personal toiletries you prefer. Basic toiletries are available locally.
Personal Comfort
A journal or notebook (many guests find writing therapeutic). A book or two. Headphones. A comfort item from home if that helps you feel grounded. Photos of loved ones. Anything that helps you feel safe and settled.
What NOT to Bring
Excessive electronics – we encourage digital detox (though it is not enforced). Formal clothing. Work materials (you are here to recover, not catch up). Anything you would not want to carry through airports.
Anything You Forget Can Be Found Locally
Thailand has excellent shops and markets. If you forget something or need additional items, we can help you find them nearby. Do not let packing anxiety become a barrier to coming – the essentials are really very simple.
